Brace yourselves, WWE fans, this isn’t kayfabe. WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins will be out at least six months after he tore his ACL, MCL and medial meniscus in his right knee while performing in Dublin on Wednesday night. WWE confirmed the injury via ESPN’s Jonathan Coachman on Thursday afternoon.
While Rollins is out, WWE announced it would strip his title and hold a tournament to crown a new champion at the “Survivor Series” pay-per-view Nov. 22. WWE did not release any details on the participants, but it’s likely that Roman Reigns, a former tag team partner of Rollins, will be involved. He was supposed to contend for the title in a one-on-one match against the 29-year-old at the event.
Bryan’s return status remains unknown.
